Sprague Pest Solutions recently received a trio of honors that recognize the company’s workplace culture, multigenerational leadership and deep community roots.
The recent awards include:
- USA Today Top Workplaces – This is the second year in a row that Sprague has earned a spot on the national Top Workplaces list, a recognition based entirely on feedback from team members.
- Puget Sound Business Journal Top Family Business – As a fourth-generation family business, Sprague’s inclusion on this list reflects its legacy, strong leadership and commitment to evolving while staying true to its core values.
- South Sound Magazine Best in the South Sound – Founded in a garage off Fawcett Avenue in Tacoma, this recognition honors Sprague’s Puget Sound roots and our continued dedication to the community.

“These recognitions are more than just awards, they are a reflection of the people who make Sprague what it is,” said Ross Treleven, president and CEO of Sprague Pest Solutions and son of Larry Treleven, member of the Pest Management Professional Hall of Fame (Class of 2016). “They affirm the culture we have built together, and the values pressed down through generations. As we look ahead, we are not just honoring the past, we are energized for what’s next.”
Sprague promotions
Sprague also recently celebrated the promotions of three team members into key leadership positions.

The promotions include:
- Jeremy Hundley, BCE, regional entomologist: Since joining Sprague in 2017, Hundley has consistently demonstrated technical excellence and a deep commitment to service. As a route manager, he ranked in the top 10 percent of all route managers for seven consecutive years and earned the Bob Treleven Technician of the Year award in 2023. In his new role, he joins Sprague’s growing technical team.
- James Mullen, ACE, branch manager Denver, Colo.: Mullen began his career at Sprague in 2018 as a route manager before advancing to operations manager in 2021. With extensive pest control experience and a strong understanding of the region’s unique service needs, Mullen is well-positioned to lead the Denver team into its next chapter.
- Walter Parada, operations manager Los Angeles, Calif.: Parada joined Sprague in 2018 as a route manager. He brings a broad range of pest control experience and a deep knowledge of both urban and regional pest issues. Those skills, paired with his leadership mindset, make him an asset as he steps into his new role supporting operations in Southern California.

“These promotions reflect the strength of our internal talent and our dedication to developing leaders who live our values and deliver exceptional service,” said Shane Hartnett, director of operations at Sprague. “It’s exciting to see how these individuals have grown within the company and how their leadership will help shape the future of Sprague.”
