
Massey Services’ chief operating officer (COO), Ed Dougherty, recently retired from the Orlando, Fla.-based company. He joined Massey in 1992 and has more than 40 years of experience in the pest control industry.
History at Massey
- Joined as a manager trainee in Tampa, Fla., in 1992.
- Was promoted to general manager of the company’s Orlando Commercial service center in 1994.
- Held a variety of leadership positions in operations, including division manager of Massey’s commercial division and regional manager over South Florida, Central Florida, Georgia and The Villages.
- In 2009, Dougherty was promoted to vice president, GreenUP Landscape Services, overseeing the entire landscape division.
- In 2010 he was promoted to executive vice president (EVP) of consumer services and was responsible for all residential service center operations.
- He was promoted to EVP of operations in 2011 and to COO in 2016.
“Ed’s leadership and vision have been an integral part of our company’s growth,” said Tony Massey, president and CEO of Massey Services and son of Pest Management Professional Hall of Famer Harvey Massey (Class of 2008). “He has led our operations team with compassion and empathy, demonstrating a profound dedication to our team members and our customers.”
In the interim, Tony Massey will lead the operations team at Massey Services to ensure a smooth transition.
